  • Biography

Originally from Marlton, New Jersey – I’m currently working towards a Bachelor’s and Master’s (concurrently)in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. I am looking to research the feasibility of a semi-degradable hydrogel construct utilizing a controlled release system of growth factors to facilitate differentiation of injected chondrocytes or mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) into healthy knee cartilage.

I have worked for a total of 1.5 years in medical device industry. I worked as a Research and Development Intern for the Sports Surgery Department of Covidien in North Haven, CT during the summer of 2008. At Covidien, I worked with biodegradable polymers for arthroscopic surgery suture constructs. For the past year, starting in March 2009, I began working for Integra LifeSciences in Plainsboro, NJ as a co-op in their NeuroSciences Product Development Department. During my time at Integra I have worked with collagen-based duraplasty materials.

Besides working, school and research, I am interested in photography, traveling, soccer, singing, HBO TV series, and reading. I am recently being entertained with my Canon camera, The Pacific & True Blood, the Sookie Stackhouse Series, and the indiest of indie rock music.
