| Abstract | This paper describes the history of engineering and engineers in Mexico from the end of the Maximilian Empire (1867) to the present. Although it might sound too historical for those of you who are interested in present-day Mexico, this paper will contribute to your understanding of the historical roots of the differences among engineers coming from different Mexican engineering schools. Remember: not all Mexican engineers are the same. There are profound institutional differences. As an aspiring global engineer, you have the responsibility to understand and value these differences. |
