Abstract

My name is Bryce Smith, and I am a Mechanical Engineering Student at Purdue University. In this document, I want to tell you a little bit about myself, including some engineering classes I have taken, practical engineering experience that I have, and what I hope to do in the future. Before we get to that, I will explain why I decided to study Mechanical Engineering at Purdue. I chose Mechanical Engineering as my area of study because I am interested in solving problems and how objects function. Since I was in elementary school, I have enjoyed taking everyday items from around the house apart to see how they work. As I got older and began thinking about a career field, Mechanical Engineering seemed like a perfect fit. I chose Purdue University because it has a world--‐renowned Engineering program and it provides me many opportunities that I wouldn’t get by going to a smaller school, such as the co--‐op program. Now that you know a little about why I chose Mechanical Engineering at Purdue, I want to talk about my experiences with engineering so far.
